BACKGROUND: There's apparently no shortage of people ready to sell autism "treatments". DISCUSSION: In part one of this series, the author just brushes the tip of the iceberg when it comes to some of the scientifically unsupported autism "treatment" nonsense. Acknowledging some of the ludicrosity of chelation therapy for autism is just the beginning. The author delves deeply into the scientific aspects of "RNA Drops" as an autism treatment. A look at Amy Yasko's website as well as some relevant parent forum discussion is also covered. This article is extremely clear, even for a lay-person, and offers explanation about the science of why RNA Drops can't work as it's apparently claimed. This is highly recommended reading for parents considering such "treatment". HARRY'S COMMENT: Uh oh autism "healers". Can you say RNAses? The scientists appear to be able to see through smoke and mirrors.
