BACKGROUND: In the world of anti-vaccination hysteria, there are several known "take a total dose challenges" purportedly put to doctors and other health officials. DISCUSSION: This article provides some of the detail of one such challenge, but goes further too. Is the information presented by the party offering the challenge based on facts and evidence, or is it a concoction of assertion and belief (untouchable by a challenge filled to the brim with woo-based conditions? Given the often alleged, yet never proven, relationship of mecury in vaccines to autism, it could, in some cases, be straight forward to look for similarity in outcomes between someone who has experienced extreme mercury poisoning (with Thiomersal) and a descriptive presentation of autism. HARRY'S COMMENT: It might be easier to perform an elaborate escape than it would to meet the terms and conditions of this contract.
